April 7, 2025 – The Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship, Yang Berhormat Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe, who also serves as the Chairman of SAIP Sdn Bhd, recently visited the Sabah Agro-Industrial Park (SAIP). He was accompanied by an entourage consisting of Board Members from SAIP Sdn Bhd and CEOs from the SEDCO Group. The visit commenced with a welcoming speech by Encik Annef Osyairi Osman, General Manager of SAIP Sdn Bhd, followed by remarks from Datuk Ar. James Wong, Group General Manager of SEDCO, and a speech by Yang Berhormat Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe.
In his address, Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe emphasized that the park’s core focus should be on agro-processing. This includes value-added processing of agricultural products such as food processing, packaging, and the preparation of export-ready goods. The Minister also highlighted that the park represents a beacon of opportunity for the people of Sabah, the industries, and the state’s future. He described it as a platform that will enable Sabah to transform its agricultural sector, create high-value jobs, and
promote sustainable development. He urged the cooperation of SEDCO and other stakeholders to work together in making the park not only a regional leader but also a symbol of Sabah’s commitment to progress, innovation, and sustainability in the agro-industrial field.
After the welcoming event, the entourage was given a guided tour of the park, led by Puan Mariyam Gambur, Senior Manager of SAIP Sdn Bhd. The tour concluded with a hi-tea session for networking and further discussions.
