SEDCO held its 3^rd Brainstorming Session for the 10^th Malaysia Plan’s Budget Submission at Hotel Perkasa Keningau on October 29 & 30. The session discussed proposed socio-economic programs and projects that would be undertaken by SEDCO and funded by the Federal & State Government for the period of 2011 to 2015.

Chaired by SEDCO Chairman, Datuk Hj Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif, the session was attended by the Management and senior officers of SEDCO as well as chairmen, CEO and senior executives of SEDCO’s BCIC-related companies. Also present were Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Industrial Development, Hj Hashim Paijan, SEDCO Deputy Chairman, YB John Teo Mau Sing and President/representatives of three Bumiputera Chambers.

The session deliberated on three key areas namely Provision of Business Opportunities, Funding & Support Services, and Entrepreneurship programs. Among programs put forward for consideration are the setting up of a dedicated entrepreneurial centre, special complexes for IT; textile, tailoring & fashion; furniture; and motor services business, as well as relocation and upgrading of the existing Entrepreneur Guidance Centre (PBUNS), apart from enhancing the existing programs. A special committee will work out details of these programs before the submission of the budget to the respective Ministry (Federal and State level) February next year.
