Datuk Hj Mohd Arifin (left) performs the aqad (oral agreement) to confirm the offer of the zakat SEDCO handed over its ‘Zakat Perniagaan’ (obligatory charity from business earnings) for 2009 totaling RM200,000.00 in a brief ceremony at the Sabah Islamic Religious Council (MUIS) headquarters in Sembulan, Kota Kinabalu recently. SEDCO Chairman, Datuk Hj Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif presented the zakat to MUIS Chairman, Datuk Hj Syed Abas Syed Ali. |

The new SEDCO business premises in Membakut would provide more business opportunities for local traders and improve facility for road users. Located midway between the State Capital Kota Kinabalu and both gateway towns of Sipitang and Menumbok, it would also become an ideal stopover for tourists and travellers from Brunei, Sarawak, Labuan and from Kota Kinabalu itself.

SEDCO held its 3rd Brainstorming Session for the 10th Malaysia Plan’s Budget Submission at Hotel Perkasa Keningau on October 29 & 30. The session discussed proposed socio-economic programs and projects that would be undertaken by SEDCO and funded by the Federal & State Government for the period of 2011 to 2015.
